"Solar Shield" is an arcade shooter made for the Ludum Dare 50 game jam.
I built this project alone in Unreal Engine 4. I even managed to quickly compose a background song in the given time.
This 72 hour jam had the theme of "Delay the Inevitable." My interpretation of that was a planet that is near destruction due to the local star creating intense solar flares.
The time is constantly going down until the player is destroyed, and almost everything makes that time go faster, even using weapons against enemies.
The inevitable can be delayed via restoring time by collecting fuel or destroying enemies.

This project was made when I only had a few months of experience using Unreal Engine 4. There are many things that are lacking that I have since learned how to do.
However, I am still very proud of how this simple game turned out given my level of experience at the time and the fast pace of the game jam.
