"Chromadice Rush" is a 3D puzzle game made for the GMTK 2022 game jam.
I worked on this project with a first-time designer in Unreal Engine 4. He did most of the designing and made the 3D models while I handled the programming.
This 48 hour jam had the theme of "Roll of the Dice." We decided to go the route of a puzzle game where a die is moved along various platforms in each level.
The die is moved by pressing the number on the keyboard that corresponds to the desired movement direction.
For example, in the above picture moving forward would require hitting the "1" key, and moving left would be the "5" key.
While we did not get to do nearly as much with the concept as we wanted, the primary goal was to show him how a game is designed and made.
The controls are also a bit of a mind-boggler, but creating this proof of concept in the 48 hour timeframe was well worth the effort.
